Dr. Andreas Maier

PRESIDENT & CEO WEYLCHEM GROUP OF COMPANIES

 

Andreas Maier began his career in the fine chemicals industry with Hoechst and Clariant, which later became part of WeylChem in 2007. He holds a PhD from the University of Stuttgart and has completed the Harvard General Management Program. Throughout his career, Andreas has gained extensive experience in R&D, Operations, Sales, and Business Management, working both in the US and Germany. Known for his dedication and innovative approach, Andreas most recently served as the President of ICIG’s Catexel Business until January 2025. Outside of his professional life, Andreas is passionate about mentoring young professionals and enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors.

 

Tilo Stein

GROUP CFO, WEYLCHEM GROUP OF COMPANIES
Tilo Stein brings around 20 years of experience from big corporations and mid-sized companies in various industries. He has a professional background in the broader Finance and Controlling area ranging from Audit over Controlling and Investment Management to CFO- and CEO-positions. In this context he has gained experience in and successfully executed growth projects as well as in restructuring- and Change Management-assignments. He joined Weylchem as Group-CFO in July 2023.
 

Alix Deschamps

MANAGING DIRECTOR, WEYLCHEM LAMOTTE S.A.S. AND WEYLCHEM BILBAO S.L.U.
Alix Deschamps has around 25 years of international experience in the petrochemical and chemical industry, including positions as site manager and operations manager with a strong focus on HS&E. Before joining WeylChem in January 2021, he was Group Manufacturing Excellence Director at Solvay SA, based in Brussels, Belgium.
 

Mark Matheny

MANAGING DIRECTOR, WEYLCHEM US INC.
With extensive experience in leadership roles, Mr. Matheny worked for Georgia-Pacific Packaging Division in several finance roles and as General Manager of a corrugated box manufacturing plant. He also spent 10 years as Vice President Strategic Planning and Analysis for Novolex.

Dr. Benjamin Bechem

MANAGING DIRECTOR, WEYLCHEM ORGANICA GMBH

Benjamin Bechem joined the WeylChem Group in July 2024, initially assuming responsibility for global sales of Custom Manufacturing & Tolling. In November 2024, he was appointed Managing Director of WeylChem ORGANICA and CBW at the Bitterfeld-Wolfen site.

He began his career at Lanxess after earning his PhD in Heidelberg in 2010, gaining extensive leadership and management experience in innovation, marketing, and sustainability.

Dr. Stefan Sigmund

MANAGING DIRECTOR, WEYLCHEM WESSELING GMBH

 
Stefan Sigmund started his career working for Evonik Industries in 2013. During his time at Evonik he held various positions in Inhouse Consulting, Business Operations and Sales & Marketing in Germany and the US. In 2018 he joined the Performance Materials Division, which in 2023 partly became part of the WeylChem Group of Companies.

Dr. Jörg Schulte

Managing Director, WeylChem Intermediates GmbH

Jörg Ludwig Schulte, a chemist with over 25 years of industry experience, joined the WeylChem group in January 2024. He studied in Münster and Braunschweig, followed by a postdoc at Stanford. His career includes roles at Celanese (Höchst), Clariant Chile, and Archroma Chile, where he led Latin American operations for six production sites. He brings expertise in R&D, manufacturing, and sustainability.
