We continuously seek more energy-efficient and sustainable production processes using modern technology. We focus on waste avoidance, recycling, and converting waste streams into alternative uses. For example, gas-phase synthesis reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions, while modern catalysts require less solvent and produce products selectively.
A key goal is establishing circular processes that minimize raw material and energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste. At our Allessa site, Phenothiazine production is powered by a “waste-to-energy” biomass plant, eliminating fossil fuel use. We also invested in a modern oxidation plant at our LaMotte site that uses air instead of nitric acid, significantly improving our greenhouse gas footprint. Additionally, we conduct Product Carbon Footprint analyses for all our sites.
In procurement, we prefer regional suppliers and use rail and barge transportation to reduce our supply chain’s carbon footprint. Our efforts have earned us recognitions such as the ECOVADIS Gold Status and ISO 50001 certifications.
Our uncompromising approach to plant and occupational safety underlies all activities. We ensure buildings, plants, and facilities meet all safety criteria through audits, certification, and preventive maintenance. The same rigorous standards apply to our personnel’s working environment and conditions.
